Louisiana (9-0), looking for the sweep in its own Mardi Gras Ball Baseball Classic, leads Texas State (10-2) 9-0 after five innings. The Cajuns knocked off Marist (1-2) 10-1 Friday night and Miami (Ohio) (0-3) Saturday 4-3.

In Mobile, Sunday's game between South Alabama (4-5) and #25 Oral Roberts (5-3) was rained out. Oral Roberts took a 6-5 win Friday night and the Jaguars returned the favor with a 6-5 victory Saturday. The Jaguars have played a brutal schedule thus far.

Arkansas State (9-2) took 2/3 from Louisiana-Monroe (7-4) in Monroe with a 5-0 shutout win Sunday. Arkansas State won the Friday opener 4-1 and the Indians won Saturday's contest 11-3.

New Mexico State (7-7) won its first two games in the RockHounds College Classic in Midland, Texas. The Aggies knocked off Texas-San Antonio (0-10) 5-3 and Lamar (7-4) 8-1 on Saturday. The Aggies are scheduled to take on Texas Tech (10-1) Sunday, weather permitting.

St. John's (2-4) took a 9-4 victory over Florida International (9-4) Sunday in Miami. But the Golden Panthers won the series with victories of 9-8 and 11-4 Friday and Saturday repsectively.

Western Kentucky (2-7) continues to struggle dropping 3/4 to a weak Central Michigan (3-4) squad this weekend. The Hilltoppers continue to struggle at the plate losing 5-1 Sunday. Western Kentucky won the Friday opener 7-6 before getting swept in a Saturday doubleheader 4-1 and 8-4.

Arkansas-Little Rock (7-6) swept its home series with Jackson State (5-8) with a 6-5 victory Sunday. The Trojans swept a doubleheader Saturday with victories of 10-8 and 6-1.

Middle Tennessee (2-2) had its game with host Troy State (6-3) rained out Sunday in the Screen Tech Wireglass Classic (Dothan, Alabama). The Blue Raiders opened the tournament Friday with an 8-4 loss to Ohio State (1-1). Middle Tennessee rebounded with an 11-9 win over Iowa (0-2).

The Privateers dropped the Sunday finale to UMass, 4-3 at Maestri field. New Orleans (3-6) shutout UMass (1-2) 12-0 on Saturday. The Privateers snuck away with a 3-2 win Friday night.
