Thread: Burnt Roux - Dshaie Landor

I've looked at some of our listed prospects and there are about half a dozen listed as 3 stars which we are apparently in on. Many of them have some of the big schools looking, but without offers. However, most do have offers from "lower" tier BCS schools and C-USA schools. I think we may have a shot at a few of them. Just my opinion, without a thread of legitimate info!

If I am not mistaken, Mike Coppage has him ranked as his #1 QB in the state.

Love D'Shaie Landor, but Mike Coppage hasn't seen a number of kids he ranks play in person. You can look at video, but watching an athlete peform in game situation is always a major part of the evaluation process. It really doesn't matter who is ranking athletes; Coppage, Dandy Don or Max Emfinger.....if you haven't watched an athlete play in game situations, evaluations by video, number of stars and schools of interest are extremely flawed in my opinion. This is why college coaches go out and watch games on Friday nights. Most of the personal rankings are done for entertainment value, unless you're Max Emfinger that runs a recruiting service. I think Mike Coppage would tell you the same thing, its all in good fun.

Our WR from New Iberia.. I haven't seen this kid play but I see we are his only scholarship offer. Can anyone tell me if they have seen him play?

Our offensive line.. three guards and a tackle.. all huge. WOW. All three are over 6'3" and "pushing" 300lbs... WOW.

I guess my main question is only 5 are ranked nationally.... whats the deal?
I saw NISH WR Allen play last Thursday against Acadiana. He is tall, DA lists him as 6'-3",had about 100 yards receiving & on a couple of catches it took 2-3 people to bring him down. Acadiana manhandled them, but Allen impressed me on a couple of runs after the catch and broke a few tackles. He didn't get many touches due to Acadiana's defense, but I will see him play again against Westgate. I should have a better idea how he performs against Westgate.

My question is if the NISH kicker is getting any interest?

Anyone ever notice that after a kid commits to Tech, he's a 3 star within a week on Rivals? Noland went from NR to 3 star being the most recent example. Rivals rankings have serious integrity flaws. Need to trust the coaches assessments, they have the most at stake.
The same can be said for other services. When we got Darrien Batiste, he was a 45 ranking on ESPN and now is a 75 along with Dominick Jones who was rated as a 40 or 45. It happens with all services.

Whats amazing to me is that there are 6 players listed as high interest with no offers. I don't ever remember skilled players wanting to come here but not having an offer in hand.
You still have to be careful about looking at other offers. Many times, that is a list provided by the prospect themself but they may not be true, committable offers. Big schools tell these kids all the time that they are offering them but don't actually send it in writing in hopes of getting a higher profile player. I'd bet that many of the other "offers" listed by prospects are not true offers.

Default Landor Leading Rebels Playoff Drive

Teurlings Catholic Senior QB D’Shaie Landor is leading the Rebels towards another 4A payoff appearance this season. The “6-0”, 175-pound athlete continues to put up gaudy numbers through the air and on the ground.
