LOUISIANA La. - The fifth-ranked Louisiana's Lady Cajun softball team swept the weekly Sun Belt Conference honors as Jill Robertson and Brooke Mitchell were named Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
Robertson, earning the award for the first time in her career, went 7-for-15 (.467 average) at the plate with three stolen bases and three RBIs during the 19th Annual Louisiana Classics.
She had the game-winning home run in the top of the 10th inning against Nicholls State on Friday and a couple of timely hits against Purdue on Sunday.
The Cajuns center fielder finished the Classics with a .733 slugging percentage (11 total bases in 15 at bats) and a .600 on-base percentage.
Mitchell, named the Most Outstanding Player of the Classics, picked up her 100th career victory in Sunday's 15-5 run rule rout of Purdue to improve to 100-21 in her career.
