In Rayne, officials say they're already making progress even though it has not been a week since the tornado.
So far, volunteers have reached out to 514 homes by giving people furniture, appliances and clothing.
Last Saturday, a tornado destroyed dozens of homes, cars and even uprooted trees.
Cheryl Richard, Raynes cultural director says the big mess the tornado made is almost cleared up.
"Here we are just a week out after the disaster and you can travel in those hard hit areas. Some people are back in their homes," said Richard.
If you want to donate items like clothes and furniture contact Rayne's Salvation Army at 337-235-2407.
The Red Cross is also accepting money.
Red Cross is using part of the funds to help residents with deposits for new homes.
