Louisiana can take big step with win at North Texas.

This one could do it.

Louisiana's Lady Cajuns have been breathing rarified air this season, already earning the first winning record in 17 years at the school, and now they're primed to win a division title.

Coach J. Kelley Hall's squad is 17-7 overall and 7-4 in Sun Belt Conference play, a game ahead of North Texas and two up on South Alabama with four to play.

A win in tonight's matchup with North Texas in Denton might clinch the Western Division title.

The Cajuns won the first meeting with the Mean Green, 73-66, and a season sweep would put UNT an extra half-game back with three to go.

It would also damage the comeback hopes of South Alabama, which lost 63-57 in Denton and at best would have a season split in any tiebreaker between the three schools.

UL visits New Mexico State (8-15, 3-8) on Saturday before finishing at home against Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State next week.

There are two reasons to think the Cajuns can win tonight.
