Yes and there is another year going by ln bringing in inferior talent and bringing the respect of the program even lower---Oh I am signing with McNeese --they are a better program---This is crazy and obvious we signed the wrong guy!!!!

Just a synopsis of this last season, Roger's "best" by far as Cajuns Head coach:

No matter how much lipstick anyone tries to put on a pig, it is still a pig. WBB right now is a pig. All 11 victories were either over non-D1 opponents or over D-1 opponents with rpis of 250+. The team I saw playing Denver in the Dome could not beat a really good HS team.

OK, Did My research. Here are our wins:

LSU-Shreveport [NAIA]
UNO [twice] [NCAA D-3]
Murray State RPI 327
SLU RPI 273
Centenary RPI 342
Savannah State RPI 289
North Texas [twice] RPI 321
Troy RPI 309
Florida Atlantic RPI 307

So our record against NCAA Div 1 opponents was 8-19,
only 2 of our 8 wins had RPIs below 300, only one of those was below 275, none below 250.

Our RPI was 297. FWIW our final RPI in 2007, JKH's last year, was 54.

Now somebody tell me with a straight face they see any improvement..

As one who does attend women's basketball games, I do see how hard the ladies play. Plays could be run with more precision, though. The implication from some is that since this is not a revenue producing sport with little support, Farmer shouldn't give this much thought. I don't get that. However, If Farmer truly believes Rogers is the best option at the current compensation, fine. I wish both men and the coaching staff the best. I'll be there. By the way, I assume this is a one year extension.

What I see is a desperate coach -in the final year of his contract- trying to pad his schedule, and still coming up short.

I would imagine that this one year extension gives Scott Farmer enough time to see more potential candidates and what he can afford to pay them. Surely our revenue should go up this year for football so that may attract some better candidates.

We averaged 316 people per game and were the 16th to last team in the nation in attendance---but we keep the coach---Oh wait I forgot the "It's not my job to get people in the stands"----I am sorry but this really called for a new coach---I just hate when UL alumni don't succeed but facts are facts----Farmer needs to answer some questions to our supporters!!!!

1. Football
2. Refer to #1
3. Men's basketball
4. Baseball
5. Softball
6. Track
7. Women's basketball

My rankings are based on the status of each program, what it can potentially do for the University and obviously my opinion. We are throwing resources at football, baseball and softball right now so funds could be low for women's basketball. At the end of the day he got a 1 year extension so that should be a huge hint as to his job stability. He'll probably have another bad year and he'll be replaced by an up and coming coach.

I would think that at most schools WBB would be right after baseball-----JKH had us in a position to do it and he wanted back----I am just sad that ER hasn't been more successful ------I thought he would have been a great recruiter ---wrong or he is just a bad coach!!!! The old definition of insanity---Trying the same thing over and over and expecting different results---Anybody betting on a breakout year in WBB?????

I spoke to the McNeese St. HC yesterday and told her about Rodgers been kept for at least another year. Out of respect for her, I will not repeat what she said but I got a good laugh with her first response. She happens to know Rodgers well as they coached together at one point at Mississippi St., and she truly was pulling for him personally to do well.

I am not happy that we kept Rodgers for another year, but the way I look at it, we kept Bustle and Lee at least a year longer than we had thought and wanted, and look what the UL administration was able to produce when the time was right. In both situations I think money had a lot to do with it and my gut feeling is this is the same. So if we need another year to build some cash to go out and hire the best coach with a competitive salary that is multi-year than lets wait another year. What sucks the most, is there is no doubt that waiting another year will set back recruiting for a year, but if there is a sport that you can change the face of and have a quick turnaround it is basketball.
