They have consistently drawn that many fans, even in some "down" years. And add it to, some of the highest attendance in the country for baseball.
Women's basketball on other hand has had horrible attendance, even in the very few winning season they have had. Fact is, women's basketball is not a sport that fans of UL show interest in.....except when its time to fire a coach. They only care then.
OK So why was he retained???? He is a great recruiter----He is a great coach---He draws the fans----He has a great record----He has a sure championship team coming back----He wasn't given a chance----He was promised a palace to play in when hired----We ALL know that the answer to all these questions are---NO---This forum is open to reasons he could possibly be kept!!!! Anybody up for it????
I was agreeing that we need to give ALL scholly sports a chance to succeed. If their attendance isn't good, even in good years, should those athletes be ignored? I say "Hell no!". Coach Rogers has proven he can't do the job, and the university needs to hire someone who can. And if money is too much of a deterrent, give someone who won't cost as much a chance. Again, status quo is/has been unacceptable.

His contract was up! WBB IS the third most popular sport in the NCAA. There is not another sport that is even close on a national scale.
J Kelly Hall had no fan support, because WE HAVE NEVER WON PRIOR TO HIM. How can you have fan support when the program never in its history had won? Under Hall the WBB program did something that was unthinkable, an at large bid to the Big Dance. Had we continued to win you could bet your ass that WBB would have drawn around 2K for home games.
Keeping Rogers is a very poor move by this AD.
