NEW ORLEANS - Road wins have been hard to come by recently for the University of Louisiana women's basketball team, so when they had the opportunity Thursday night the Ragin' Cajuns made the most of it.
The Cajuns rolled to a 30-12 halftime lead and led by as many as 26 points in the second half in coasting to a 66-46 victory over New Orleans.
The win boosts Louisiana (16-7, 6-4) into a tie for the Sun Belt Conference's West Division lead with North Texas, whom the Cajuns defeated earlier this season at home. Those two teams meet in Denton next Thursday following the Cajuns' Saturday (4 p.m.) home contest against South Alabama.
Anna Petrakova led the Cajuns with 24 points and also had nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Six of her rebounds came on the offensive end, and she had 14 points by halftime. Petrakova also had two baskets early in the second half to help put UL in front 37-14 with 16:42 left.
