footing dragging. He failed to lay the foundation during the most dry spring and summer in decades. Then the rains came, and it is not like they were unusual rains. Bottom line he took his sweet time.Originally Posted by RaginFan2

Seriously, is there any way that the university can put them on a "do not hire" list so that they can't do this to us again?Originally Posted by Cajun Express

I understand that there is a way, but it may be expensive. In most cases it probably is not worth the delay caused by rejecting their bid if they protest. IMO if you receive a bid from a contractor who has failed once you should be able to reject his bid, or if he has multiple contracts perhaps checking the last five major ones at your school.Originally Posted by AstroCajun
Maybe we will be lucky and most of the afternoon thunderstorms will be on the wane since we have had so many in June and July.
Its not so much that we drop them off the list of contractors to use, but we just state that we foresee this project taking x days to complete, and you tell us how much it will cost you to do so. if you do not perform, then you pay for it.Originally Posted by Cajun Express
$800.00 a day is nothing. Thirty days is what $24,000.00, an absurdly small amount. A far more stinging amount would be 1 percent a day coupled with a an early completion bonus would probably set things in motion on future contracts.Originally Posted by rhineaux
I have dealt with contractors for thirty years and they always have a good excuse for delays and mistakes, but when they want to move on to another job they get busy and clear things in a hurry. This guy has no reason to push the job.
I AGREE!! $800/day is pitiful!! I don't know what's up with this pathetic company from Port Barre, but they should go take a look at the parking garage on campus.Originally Posted by Cajun Express
The garage was started around November and is nearing completion....both projects have dealt with the same weather conditions....if they keep dragging their feet, the garage will have been fully constructed within the same time frame as these sssssLlooooooooowwwww azzes!!
The University should be charging THESE @$$HOLES $150,000 a day for them to complete it by the time pre-season drills start!!! If I'm Coach Bustle, I'm out there every day with a baseball bat getting behind those suckers to get the F#ing job done!!!
