Many such facilities do not have air conditioning, as it is not necessary. If you need A/C to keep such a building bearable, it was not designed worth a darn.

The building is intended to get out of the rain, not the heat. Adding A/C would be a hideous waste of money.

Got any other asininity for us?

That's right. Our boys need to get out of the rain not the heat. They need to be exposed to the heat as much as possible. Otherwise, there's no advantage for us to be playing home games at 4pm. We want that heat advantage. Other teams won't be used to this humid heat. If we have AC, then we won't be used to it either. Right now when it rains the football team has to practice on the basketball courts at Bourgeois Hall. How good of a practice do you think you can get in when you're playing indoors, no contact, on a hard floor with shoes with out spikes? That's what this facility is supposed to do. Let the team play on a field like surface when its raining so that the practices are as close to normal as possible. It's not meant to baby and coddle them with AC.

Being built to use nature! That is Heat rises, and fans below circulate the air, so it never gets super hot. Train out of the wet elements, keeping SOME of the heat!

ps It is also a full 120 yard field, and the Basketball court that is attached HAS A/C!!!!!!!!!!

Speak after getting your facts straight or don't speak at all.

Oh, it's really bright to justify not having air conditioning as a way to keep your athletes acclimated to the heat.

There are football players every August dying on practice fields due to heat and you want to send them indoors during August in a un-air conditioned building?

The heat index inside that giant sauna you're building is going to be higher than outside. Moron!
Your concern for our players is astounding. I wasn't picking up that vibe from other commentary you posted. Contact the admin and direct your contribution to "A/C for Indoor Facility". We all thank you in advance.

Perhaps in the hottest of days, we will be able to afford the utility bill to operate "your" a/c unit. However, if you agree to set up an annuity to cover the monthly bill for continuous operation, we may consider placing streamers on said a/c unit with your name on it. You may call yourself anything you want, and we will not even attempt to rename you, nor correct others as to your official name.

I think the size was longer than 100 yard (maybe 120).

WOW! You don't know anything about anything, do you? Maybe you ought to follow your advice about getting your facts straight, eh?

First of all, I've been in Arkansas' indoor facility. It did not have A/C when I went into it.

Second of all, why don't you learn a few things about cooling buildings without A/C? A properly-designed building will be quite comfortable in the heat of August without A/C. But you knew that, right? Didn't you? Didn't you? Oh, you didn't? Consider yourself educated, then.

You don't know crap, and you show it with every letter you type. But by all means, please keep coming here and showing us how well State is educating its students.

Since this facility is being funded largely by student fees, I have drafted a petition to the SGA asking that they endorse the inclusion of both a Competition Grade indoor track facility, and an indoor tennis facility. Both could use the same seating and occupy the same area, just not at the same time.

Please go to the url shown below and sign this petition, and send all your friends. Thanks.

i will not sign it, again you people still don't understand or maybe don't care about baseball, that's what it is.yea, try to put something extra that don't generate any funds whatsoever when coach rob is still stuck under the bleaches(main stadium)locker room to small, no office space, field need drainage, infield needs to be redone etc, but no, put a stupid track/tennis in an indoor facility that's already behind schedule then add bleachers and put add another burdon to the baseball coaches (who already take care of track)more, how dumb is that.but again.who cares about baseball! NO ONE.

Why is there a trailer behind the coaches offices (between the building and scoreboard)? What is it currently used for other than being an eyesore?

Post game media interviews. Preseason media interviews.

It came about with the athletic office remodeling. I imagine after the next phase of expansion is finished, it won't be needed any more. There used to be a separate media room inside the office complex.

There may be many other uses.
