I'm a huge fan of Boise's program because they built up by winning games and not by being a sacrificial lamb.
Boise went 1-A in 1996. In the 5 years prior to that, '91-'95, they were 35-24. Hardly setting the world on fire in 1-AA.

    1996 they were 2-10
    1997 they were 4-7
    1998 they were 6-5

From '96-'04, Boise has a 1-11 record vs "BCS" programs.
In 1996, they lost 2-56 to Arizona State.
In 1997, they lost 0-58 to Washington state.

Just like the rest of us, Boise has to take it on the chin from time to time. In '04, they BEAT Oregon State, and they almost got a BCS bowl bid because of it.

They do schedule fewer "money" games than we do, but winning them is what really gets you noticed.

If Cajuns can beat 2 of 3 out of Houston, Eastern Michigan, and Ohio, then that would be a major step forward and could possibly lead to an at large bowl birth if there was a 4th tie for conference title with Cajuns losing out on tie breaker again.

A&M will be hopefully competitive. LSU will probably be a slaughter unfortunately, although App St. held their own there.

The key for Cajuns and sunbelt is to be able to rise to the level of MAC and Conf USA and top half of WAC (as the bottom of WAC is worse than the Belt).

If one of the best Sunbelt teams loses to Houston, EM, and Ohio all in the same year then that says a lot for Sunbelt continuing to be clearly the worst conference in 1A football. Ohio will be good next year and beat Pitt this year.
