The biggest drawback in my mind would be the stuff we'd have to hear from lsu fans. They'd all say we chickened out! LOL
Hey if Bertman will pay then we should play and focus on keeping our boys safe and healthy!

Let's be honest here...I don't think we could give LSU that much of a game, as in within 20 points or so. I'm sure we'd hear a lot from LSU fans after that, which would probably be worse.Originally Posted by Geaux clotille
With that being said, I think we could give Oklahoma or Nebraska a better game. So, why not take the higher pay for a game we have a better chance at?

If we signed an agreement, we should live up to it. That's the problem with the world today. Everyone finds a better deal after they agree to something and then want out of it. We don't need to be the T.O. of college football teams.Originally Posted by RedBug58
Latex got out of their 2006 game at Penn St. I believe they still play Clemson and California plus their WAC sked. Whatever, adding Texas A&M shouldn't be a problem as they can play 13 games next year due to a visit to Hawaii.Originally Posted by shof

Well, hopefully we've learned (relearned?) a valuable lesson; and that is we can not afford to start as slow as this year. Granted there were a few factors (QB injury) that slowed us down early, but we've got to get wins up front to keep the excitement going and continue to build on this year's success. Being 4-deep at QB won't hurt! Especially with 2 experienced guys at the forefront. September will be sweet!Originally Posted by RedBug58

In my opinion what we should have learned is to not schedule teams like texas and LSU.. i know, its big money, but to me its just a show of how weak the team is... its a give away game... play people we can compete against, build up good records and move up in the polls... no.. we arent going to crack the top 25, but maybe a top 50 or 60 ranking isnt out of the question if we finished 9-2 or 8-3... helps with recruiting also when the recruits know they wont be sacrificial lambs for one game a year..Originally Posted by shof
Unfortunetly these type games have become a necessity budget wise; but I do believe no more than 1 of these type each year; and preferably not the first game of the year either. If we do end up playing LSU and TX A&M next season; that might be too much. Sure, A&M is a little down right now; but they had a whole bunch of injuries this year, and its always tough going into their stadium. I do believe we can compete favorably with the remaining OOC teams being mentioned.Originally Posted by locoguano
