    UL Football 2006 schedule

We all know that yet another LSU game is hiding around the corner and is to be played Sept. 2, 2006.

That date made me assume it was a home game because Labor Day Weekend is the Herbert Heymann Classic.

I can't find our 2006 schedule anywhere, but according to an lsu site it's in Baton Rouge.

How come they can play baseball here but not fooball?
Why are we changing the Herbert Heymann Classic for them?

    Anyone know what's going on?

    Thanks!

They will never maker a trip to lafayette to play a football game. Cajun field would be sold out for that type of matchup but they would still make more money playing at tigger stadium. I will go out on a limb and say louisiana a&m at baton rouge will never have an away game against another LA team.

Well, my guess would be seating. Tiger Stadium does hold about 90,000 fans in it, our Cajun Field only holds 30, maybe 40 on the hills. Which I don't like either because I WOULD LOVE to have LSSPEW come to the swamp but, they do have a valid point for that reason and that reason only. Boys, I know LSU is gonna be good but, Geez I do think we have a chance in 2006, I don't know I just think they been kicking us when were down for too long.

Let me post a Question now:

What would you do if the Cajuns beat LSU in 2006?

For me I'm not sure the choices range from buying a very expensive bottle of scotch and sipping on it with my dad (who is the biggest UL fan ever) on the big eye of the tiger in the middle of the field. Or just running up and down LSU's campus yelling at the top of my lungs something, it would probably be gibberish because I'd be so excited.

I would enjoy tearing down their goal post and carrying it down I-10. I would also really like laughing at a lot of louisiana a&m at baton rouge fans who have siad that it would never happen.

Oh that is great question...First off, we must stick together as fans for this one. I would love to charge their own field...my goodness I am getting goosebumps thinking about it. Remember when, i want to say but could be wrong about the teams but think it was the Minnesota/Wisconsin game a few years back when the fans charge the opposing team's field and took the goal posts out the stadium? That would be incredible! Wow! Like I said though, we really need to stick together as fans for this because we all know LSU A&M fans dont take losing very nicely. So we cant exactly overdo it. A few years ago as an undergrad, I probably wouldnt care what anyone thought, but i am just being realistic.

Another question to add to the mix....What do you think LSU A&M would do if we won the game? Would this start a new rivalry, you know they wouldnt want us to have the last laugh?
I can assure you one thing though, if we play them and lose like Oregon St. or Troy did, we will never have another game in Tigger stadium, possibly in our lifetime. Man oh man, I cant wait. I hope our boys can do it.

Well, this is a rediculously big if...but for the sake of hope and dreams...I would just smile and watch the rest of you clowns from a safe distance. Funny thing is, it seems more appropriate for all of us to just quietly turn around and walk away.

    You have a point!

This would have to be a huge caravan...you know the last one out of Lafayette, turn out the lights!

I just don't understand why it's Labor Day weekend when we already have a tradition going for that weekend???

BTW, I would run like hell to my car and then drink many Martini's!

Seeing as how we pride ourselves on being more civil than the fans and players at LSU, I'd say nothing rude or brash. Simply reveling in the fact that it happened would be enough for me. It certainly would spoil the joy of beating the dragon if by doing so, we became the dragon. Anyhoo, I will no longer be living in Louisiana (as far as I can tell) when we play them in 2006, so any possible victory cheer I might do will be by proxy via email. However, I'd force my mom to frame the newspaper article on the victory should it happen.

    God Bless.

p.s.- can u imagine how hated of a man Les Miles would be if he lost to UL?

    UL 1984, 1999 . . . .

I would have to run out the stadium and watch b/c all of the tigger fans would jump out of the stadium if we beat them.

Except for the more money thing, I agree with you. It won't but it "could" happen. I posted this on another page because it can't happen in 2006

I'm not saying I want it to happen but if pride wasn't an issue it could happen.

I'd make sure I buy a game program and newspaper, and seal them for posterity sake. It would be the last time we ever play them :<))
