Coach Pelton Heading Home to Auburn

_ Did Auburn have to buy out his contract? If so is this a financial boon? If not, why not? _

It may be policy to let assistants out of their contracts if they go to another job.

It is the nature of the business, coaches can be terminated and bought out, and coaches can leave for better compensation. _

Even I would take $250,000 ...I'll even leave this site for that. LOL!

Unless you're talking about a high major (designated coach who'll replace the current coach), I'd guess that assistant coaches are hired by the head coach and don't have a buy out in their contracts.

Unless something changed in the past year, assistants are under 12-month appointment letters from university president. No contract. No buyout.

It is being reported that the DL coach is leaving. Any truth to this?

From what I understand he left over a week ago. Went to Auburn the same position here but I would assume alot more money

Good luck going home, Coach Pelton! The money is good at Auburn. What was he making? Jay Thomas at NSU is great at DL. He might be bought, if the money is right. If there is a lockout....Daye might come home from Buffalo. There is a lot to be said for coming home. Family is from Sunset!
