Can they improve their RPI dramatically by winning SBC tournament?

RPI doesnt matter at this point for the NCAA tournament. Either we win the conference tournament and get in or we dont make it.

As far as the other minor tournaments, I'm not sure what their typical entries' RPIs are but we'd need to jump way up there. I cant see us jumping more than 30 spots though.

The balance is, you'd like to play the worst teams so your chance of winning is better, but if you happen to lose in the championship, etc, then its best to play the better team each round to improve SOS and RPI. Still, I think RPI is insignificant at this point. Cool to compare though.

My thinking is on the RPI as far as seeding. If UL beats the teams with best records, would that move their RPI up enough to get a 15 seed? This thing is getting crazy nuts now. Just read a story where BYU just suspended their center for the rest of the year. I'm telling you this thing is ripe for a Cinderella team to make a big run.
