The current helmet stickers are some of the best looking logos on a NCAA helmet. I am still a fan of just Cajuns, but our current logo is the best yet. I believe it is so good that if UL public relations would ever see this, they would realize they have a logo to establish with the university. All these circles, and peppers and ways of writing Ragin' Cajuns 20 different ways do not give us a branded mark recognizable by others. There are to many variations of our image and the absolute best one is the one they want to stay away from. The curved Ragin' Cajuns isn't on any apparel, stickers, FLAGS, or anything. We are the only school in div 1-a that doesnt have our football helmet logo on a hat. How does public relations think they are doing a good job of branding an image across the nation when the football helmets logo, the most seen representation of a university, isn't allowed to be printed. Are they really thinking thats the right thing to do, when our Circle, Circle? logo has Ragin' Cajuns written like a smile. The font is great, and the fleur-de-lis is excellent. Do away with these peppers and circles. The fleur-de-lis with its flames and the curved Ragin' Cajuns go very well together, but not all this pepper junk. The curve could be incorporated into every sports uniform. (Our uniforms are billboards for the universtiy, they are advertisement) It could be put on the front of the batter's helmet for baseball and on their sleeves. The sides of the shorts for basketball. What would you rather, the curved Ragin' Cajuns helmet logo, or the circle logo on the front of a polo shirt. Instead, public relations doesn't want to mix up our image. I mean, are they joking? There are so many variations of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns on everything and they could completely resolve this mess with the adaptation of our helmet logo to represent all athletics and become the officially unified brand of UL. Furthermore, the fleur-de-lis which represents athletics in silver and gray with yellow flames - yellow, when was this a school color? and also represents academics in vemillion and black, could merge and completely unify the University of Louisiana. Example - Texas "Longhorn", "Miami U", and Southern Cal's "SC". A vermillion and black fleur-de-lis with vermillion flames outlined. It wouldn't go change our helmet but the fleur-de-lis with the curved Ragin' Cajuns laid across it would look pretty damn good next to the score bar on the bottom of games being televised NATIONALLY! Take the Ragin' Cajuns off and you have your academics visual identification, all in school's colors. Remove the fleur-de-lis and you have our football helmet. UL wants to begin a traditional image with the school and this new font and fleur-de-lis are it, they just need to bring the two together and get rid of all that other mess.
My opinion,
