Thread: Coach Lee

    UL Basketball Coach Lee

On the news just now...channel 4 Coach Lee was interviewed and he says that Cedric Williams is again practicing with the team and paying his way for school to work to be back on the team next season. And he said that Michael Southall has finished his sentence and he has not ruled out his return to the team next season. Sounds like good news to me if they are putting their off the court problems behind them.

NOoooooo Not Southall again, I am telling you, he is no good for this team.

His laziness and poor grades was contagious on this team. He has been given his CHANCES!!!!!! too many times. He should be able to return to class if he was eligible, but to basketball I say no.

Sir, I tend to agree with you, but I promise, with the General at the helm......if he is to play, you will not see the Southall of old....

Thats the way i feel...Lee will not take the type of attitude that Southall had before. Beyond basketball though i would like to see Southall get his life together and if it can be at UL that he does it I am all for it.

I agree whole-heartedly with you. Best of luck to MS whether he ever wears a Cajun uniform or not. Waste of talent is such a sad thing. But waste of a life is tragic. Hope he turns it around for all of the right reasons.

I hope he gets his life in order, and realize playing basketball is a privledge. I just don't want to think about all the off-court stuff he was getting into and all the anguish he put us fans through. I would definitely say "No" if Jesse was still here. Nothing against Jesse, but Coach Lee has a shorter leash (thank God). Could you imagine the possibilities of how far our program could go, even into the Big Dance? How would his eligibility status be if he did come back? I think he'd still be a soph.

I thought it was mentioned last night on Triple Overtime that Southall had one year of eligibility remaining.

Regardless, I don't think this team needs him and the baggage he brings to the program unless he's had a very significant change of character. It could be, but not very likely.

Southall has already played 2 seasons and now has sat out 2 seasons. 1 of which he can use a redshirt for. So this leaves him 1 year of eligibility. If coach Lee thinks its a good idea to bring him back then I back his decision.

I've heard getting put into prison, real prison, can seriously change a persons entire attitude. You never know.
