    2010
Started 5-1 against Miami(OH) and NSU

    Outscored them 45-18

    2011
Started 2-3 against SEMO and NSU

    Outscored us 14-22

Clearly, we have run production problems, not pitching.

If we come out this weekend and pound Siena, we will be fine.

If we continue to struggle with lack of power, the only way to the post-season this year may be through the tourney.

    2010 RPI

    UL - 40
    SEMO- 175
    NSU - 63
    Nicholls -151
    Siena - 176
    UCF - 78

Apparently, SEMO is improved from last year. Siena got pounded by UCF last weekend getting swept by a combined 37-6. UCF had a team ERA last year of nearly seven runs per game and is about the same team this year. UCF has more power, but if we don't dominate Siena we need to "have a chat with the man in the mirror." I'm just sayin'.

Nicholls had a 151 RPI to end last year

I'm sure OUR team will work through this, the seniors on this team can play, we all know that. A few of them are struggling at the plate right now, I think their pressing and not just playing the game. Base running errors have hurt us, but were doing it at full speed. When was the last time Greg made two errors in one game ? Jr high maybe. Because we lost a mid week game our season is done ? Didn't we lose to McNeese on the road, and S.E. La. twice last year. We have talent, were five game into the season have a weekend series at home, but I guess if we sweep “ then we should have” or if we happen to drop one “ were a bad team” . It’s going to be a no win situation to a few fans. I’ll say it makes for good reading and I’m happy to have a place to voice my opinion.

my bad....good pick-up. Even worse though.

EDIT: Tin Pan you're correct. If we're still strugging against 150 RPI schools in a two months, I'm pulling the alarm, though....if it's still on the wall.

Well I am concerned, and I am not concerned. I "think" pitching will be good and will need to carry the team. I think there are still some good arms that haven't been used yet. I'm sure we will c more arms this weekend because hubbell will not be available due to his outing Tuesday. And that's a good thing. Last year when were a 500 club in the first half, I thought we were exstemely close to being a good club. Had some tough 1 run losses here and there that could of put more wins in the good column. We were only bringing along 1 new freshman t-Fred. This year seems like it almost the same situation but we have a freshman catcher, a new firstbaseman, a new 3rd baseman, a new Guy in CF, and a platooning Left fielder. I think my point is these guys just may need a little time to settle in, I hope. I think we will get better, but we need some positive momentum. However, I don't think we should have lost to who we have lost to although SEMO wasn't that bad a club

Struggling at the plate? Pressing? Need time to settle in? These are mostly seniors. They should be ready to play and lead the team when the season starts. If their not, make changes

Other issue is the new bats. I can't say this is the whole reason, but I think this will also take some adjustment. As Jay stated last night during the game, there have been at least three "loud" outs that would have been HR's last year.
