...is off to a hot start. We are 10-0 and should be by all accounts 15-0 by the end of this weekend.
Last year we finished the year 45-18. Granted we have not gotten into the meat of the schedule yet, but with 24 conference games (last year we were 19-5). And games we should win vs McNeese, Centenary (2), Nichols (2) and Northwestern and the Conference tournament as well as Temple and Long Island. I see at least 30-35 wins left on the schedule, barring injuries and bad luck.
That means we could arguably be 50+ wins this year. The key games are going to be, UVA, Alabama (#5), Oregon (#13), Notre Dame (RV), Arizona (#3), Arizona State (#12), New Mexico and Long Beach State are going to be the keys this year.
With 50+ wins, a potential top 10 record and hopefully a RPI in the top 20 and a beatifully renovated stadium, what are the chances of UL hosting a regional this year.
I know it is early and their is a lot of SB to be played, but this could be a special year, with the depth of pitching we have....WOW!!!
BTW, our former pitcher Donna Bourgeois is 3-1 with a 1.93 ERA, she has wins vs LSU, Ohio and Oklahoma State, she has a loss to Michigan. She is pitching well for Houston.
