I thought the burger was pretty good. My only complaint is that it is too big. 10oz is too much beef imho. Maybe because I am used to NOLA events, but I think the concession prices are pretty reasonable.
Don't hate me, but I like the Abita Amber on tap.
When the cajundome was running the concessions for football and baseball, they were using John who did the Fish and shrimp and also the sno balls. When they bring in local outside vendors they took 30% off of their sales. When Sodexho took over, they wanted 40% of his sales. That was just too much for him to give up. It sure was nice to have him on those Friday's during lent.
If that is the case I wish he would have just made it known to the patrons. Boycott Sodexo and let them only bring in their 40% from all the lemonade, fish, shrimp and fries that they sold in their tent.
With that being said. If Sodexo only wants 40% I am pretty sure I could be profitable as a beer distributor there if that would ever fly.
Just get rid of Sodexho. Part of the greatness of Acadiana is the great food. So, we now have little local flavor, and have replaced it with the same crap you can get at every other stadium. Horrible!
Here is an idea, replace all concessions with local restaurants. You want burgers, you get one from a local vendor (like Judice or Southside). That slice of pizza would come from Denos or whoever. Have a local seafood joint do fried LOCAL seafood. I think this would only enhance the experience for visiting fans(who want some good food), locals (who know what good food is), and local business (who pay taxes to the city). It's a win/win.
And in case you don't get it...LOCAL!
I agree it is too big. I have no complaint with prices of food or beer as long as the food is hot and the beer is cold and it has always been so this year. The guy and gal cooking the burgers are working their butts off.
I long for the shrimp but I've given up. Man that stuff was great.
Don't hate me, but I like Abita Strawberry in response to previous whining.
I've heard that they sell sushi at the Alex Box. Who the hell wants sushi at a BASEBALL game is beyond me, but if they can sell sushi at the litter box, then the Tigue should be able to capatilze on making CAJUN food.
I had the fried fish when it was there and it was damn good.
A bag of chips and cup of watery velvetta is a disappointment to say the least.
The overpriced philly cheese "steak" is also not very good. It's top sirloin (crappy meat) with way too many onions and bellpeppers, (prob to hide the lack of meat) melted cheese, with little to no seasoning, on a po-boy bun.
I love the Tigue and will prob buy peanuts and a beer every time I'm there, but the rest of the food leaves a lot to be desired.
This would be amazing. I just don't see how it could possibly work. The logistics would be an issue, and I don't know how it would be profitable for the restaurants.
Keep in mind guys, Sodexo handles ALL food on campus. Even though it sucks.
As is often the case...its politics.
My idea would be to turn the Cajun Cooking Club into a restaurant of sorts.
The guys could make extra of whatever is on the menu that day...
Sell it till it runs out...
and keep the profits to invest back into the club.
I still can't comprehend why they insist on carding guys in their 60's for beer. I get that it's a liability not to card, but really? The white hair and wrinkles is enough to buy in my book.
