Ouch. I hate that it's the first game of the season and our RPI will possibly drop. I know, first game of many. I think we will salvage the series though. SEMO was not that great of a team. They played solid though, no errors and took advantage when they had base runners. Pitching was very average, but our batters really helped them out. It was just a very vanilla game. No extra base hits that I can think of. Only a couple of double plays, etc. I think if we can string together some hits, speed things up, and get the crowd into it we will be fine. Maybe some of our plentiful new faces can make a name for themselves. Geaux Cajuns!
First game jitters. Just like last year, they want to KILL THE BALL. They swing at air. Defense looked OK. I wanna see more from Zimmerman. I'm not sold on him as the friday night guy. I have all the faith in the world in Tony, I ate crow last year and I won't doubt him again.
I don't see how last night was only the 10th largest crowd in team history. Before renovations our ballpark did not hold nearly as many people as it does now. The game against LSU there were people standing all over the place because there were not enough seating.
What is the school record and what year and who did we play. Before 1999 the baseball program did not have nearly the attendance it does now. I just find it hard to believe.
From this year's media guide:
1. 7,583 vs. LSU 4/6/94 (UL won)
2. 6,236 vs. LSU 3/28/89
3. 5,238 vs. Texas 3/23/92
4. 5,215 vs. LSU 3/9/99
5. 4,813 vs. LSU 4/5/95
6. 4,195 vs. Oklahoma State 3/8/92
7. 4,116 vs. Maine 3/6/92
8. 4,037 vs. UNO 5/8/93
9. 4,027 vs. LA Tech 5/5/91
10. 3,476 vs. LSU 3/19/02
Wait, are those home games at the Tigue?
Just seems they might include games where UL was the designated home team.

7k in the Tigue means people hanging off the bleachers and in the trees in the outfield.
