This team has talent, majority of the infielders can play multiple positions. Freshman are pushing upper class men for some quality time. A strong offensive outfield. Pitchers with experience, pitchers with something to prove and one Freshman that pitches like his hair is on fire, I love it ! I talked to one of the starting Seniors for Fan day and he said "This team can hit 1 through 9, its the best hitting & fastest team he's seen in three years at UL. I realize we haven't played a game yet but with 13 seniors that helped us with that second half run last year they got some real seasoning. Now lets Play Ball

Great, kind of what we thought.. Now let's go out and play ball and take the opening series! The key is to get better every week and playing our best ball in May!!! Geaux Cajuns!

Baseball America's preseason look at projected NCAA tournament has Cajuns on the wrong side of the bubble with a "solid" chance of making postseason from Sun Belt with FAU and FIU.

That's why I read Baseball America only for their minor league coverage.

Despite his stats in a different pitching system and on a bad team, he should do fine. But Robe has liked him since HS.

Zimmermann was a prep All-American coming out of De La Salle in New Orleans, so the Cajuns knew about him. Was a weekend starter at UNO in 2009, going 3-4 with a 6.01 ERA in 14 appearances (13 starts). His numbers dropped to 1-7 with a 7.59 ERA in 17 outings (10 starts) as a sophomore but didn't have much help as UNO program fell apart with the reclassification announcement. Got a no-decision last April after holding LSU to three runs on five hits in six innings in UNO's 7-4 win. Coach Robe likes his ability to throw strikes and work within the system. Example: Had 61 Ks and 16 BBs in 70.1 IP as freshman, 29 Ks and 19 BBs in 61.2 IP as sophomore.
