Default What kind of a QB is Luke Sniewski?

He is transferring to Idaho State (I-AA of the Big Sky). Just wondering what his "forte" is... pocket passer? Scrambler? We're young on QB, have a good JC player coming in, but a strong senior could still steal the starting spot.

Thanks for the info and good luck next season!

He is a pocket passer with a great arm. He throws a very good deep ball.

He did not get to play much here at UL & I guess that is why he is transfering. Our current QB started as a freshman & he will be a junior this coming season. Therefore it looked as if Luke would be out of a job again this year.

We all wish him the best of luck. It is to bad he came into UL at a time where we have a very solid QB.

  4. Default Quarterback Luke Sniewski Transfers for Idaho State Football

6-6 signal caller has one year to play after one-year stint at I-A Louisiana

Pocatello, ID --- Luke Sniewski, a 6-foot-6 quarterback from Van Nuys, California, has opted to transfer to Idaho State University for his final year of eligibility at spending last season as a back-up at Louisiana-La. announced ISU officials. Sniewski is currently enrolled at Idaho State and will practice during spring camp with the team.

The rifle-armed Sniewski was 6-for-10 passing last year in three appearances, although in his one shot at extended action, he led a comeback attempt against the University of Idaho, going 4-for-6 for 111 yards and a touchdown in a 38-25 loss to the Vandals. He went 2-for-3 the next weekend in a 27-24 win over Arkansas State, throwing for 50 yards. Sniewski started for two years at Pasadena City College, where he originally caught the eye of ISU recruiters.

In 2003 at Pasadena, he threw for 1,386 yards on 86-of-169 passing, including seven touchdowns, as he suffered an ankle injury, limiting him to parts of six games. Sniewski passed for a school record 443 yards against El Camino in 2002, and he led PCC to a school record 712 yards in total offense against Santa Ana College. A terrific student as well, he was a JC Gridwire Academic All-American after leading Granada Hills High School to the state playoffs as a senior, throwing for 1,800 yards and 21 touchdowns.

At Idaho State, Sniewski, who will be a senior next year, joins three other quarterbacks in spring camp. Matt Hagler, who played in five games last season, will battle with Sniewski along with freshman Luke Martin and senior Brian Zeches. The Bengals are hopeful of signing another quarterback on national signing on February 2.
