Sam Houston had a nice team, and a strategy... Walk Gabriele Bridges every time she bats..........I'm sure we'll see this over and over again.

Unfortunately, Gabby might not see another pitch within 10 MILES of the plate the rest of this season!!

That's why it's important that those around her hit...so they can't do it that much...or they pay for it if they do.

Hopefully, we can get a little better competition for next years Classics.

Actually, Arkansas (SEC) and Sam Houston State (Southland) are good teams, so two out of four entries being good competition are OK for early season tournaments. We played in the Arkansas tournament last year, which is probably why they agreed to come here this year. Most highly rated teams won't travel early in the season, and usually host their own tournaments just like we do. The only time you'll see multiple high quality tournaments entries is for national tournaments like the upcoming Citrus Classic (took the place of the NFCA Leadoff Classic) and the Judy Garman Classic, where they'll play the likes of Alabama, Oregon, Virginia, Notre Dame, Arizona, Arizona State, and Long Beach State.

I understand the difficulties of scheduling good teams for an early season tourny. But I would like to see a little better comp that Rhode Island and P View. I am very satisfied that Arkansas and Sam Houston made it to the Classics.

It would even be okay to have one of those two...along with an Arkansas, Sam Houston and another team of the caliber of the Bearcats. Sitting thru 3 games played against PVA&M and RI was pretty brutal. It was fun for 2 or 3 innings, then it got ridiculous real fast.

TCH could have been as competitive as the two lower teams.
