ST. ROSE, La. (AP) - Two people have been arrested in connection with a fire that killed an 88-year-old St. Rose woman.
The St. Charles Parish sheriff says 32-year-old Toby Beasley, of Hahnville, and Janna Firman, 34, of Picayune, Miss., were jailed inFriday's death of Ophelia Shepard.
Investigators say Shepard - a double amputee - was trapped in a bedroom and unable to escape when her house was set on fire. Her two grandsons were able to escape.
