Louisiana' Ragin' Cajuns women's tennis team won its fourth straight match on Friday against Abilene Christian, 6-1, in Abilene, Texas.

Inclement weather forced the day's matches indoors as the Cajuns improved to 3-0 on the year.

"I'm really proud of how the girl's adjusted and overcame the adversity," said first-year head coach Greg Harkins. "ACU is perennial Division II powerhouse. The girls stepped up and won three-straight three-set matches to clinch the win. I'm proud of how they competed."

The Cajuns started off the day winning the doubles point. Briggit Marcovich and Milou Israel teamed up in the No. 2 spot to capture their set, 8-4, before Mia Gordon and Sandra Alhqvist won the No. 3 match, 8-5.

In the singles action, UL won the first three matches in three sets each, clinching the win.

Julie Mazinova improved to 3-0 after downing Jaclyn Walker 6-2, 0-6, 6-3. Milous Israel captured her third straight win with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Hannah Kelly. Audrey Wooland's 6-0, 1-6, 6-2 win over Julia Mongin secured the Cajuns' fourth point of the day and sealed the win.

Sandra Alhqvist and Mia Gordon also tallied wins with 6-4, 6-3 and 6-4, 7-5 decisions, respectively.

The Cajuns will return to the courts on Sunday against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
