Andrews was g-r-e-a-t tonight. 8 points all in the second half. 6-6 from the free throw line. (Cajuns were 10-10 in the last 85 seconds.) Tied his career high with six assists. Added four rebounds and three steals and NO TURNOVERS in 32 minutes.
Travis and LaRyan had another solid effort. Josh Brown was quietly very good tonight..double figures in points and led with 8 rebounds, four on the offensive end.
But this was 'Mone's night. Make no mistake about it.
FAU got thoroughly embarassed tonight at Denver.
Also, Middle beats WKU, Troy wins on the road at USA, ASU hammers ULM in Monroe.
UALR and UNT postponed until 3/1 because of weather.
Good night for the visiting teams. Only Denver got a home win tonight.
What was the final score?
Final score was 72 to 68 in the Cajuns favor. Cajuns led most of the way but it was close throughout. FIU converted an old fashioned three point play with 11 seconds left to tie the game. Daigle was fouled with six seconds to go and made both free throws. I don't know if he was fouled on a shot or on the dribble. I also don't know if the call was questionable or obvious. I am sure Jay can fill us in. Regardless he knocked two down. After an FIU turnover, LaRyan Gary made two more free throws for the final margin. I agree that our three remaining seniors are contributing now and we may miss them more than we thought we would a few weeks ago. That is a good thing as they are enjoying some success as they near the end of their careers here. I don't think we won two road conference games in either of the last two seasons. Therefore, we have improved on at least one stat from a year ago.
