Ways to make the 2011 Spring Game massive

I'm trying to think of what the school can do to make the Spring Game as big as Hud wants it to be. Obviously we want there to be tailgating, band and all the lot, but I'm trying to think of what they can do to get the average fan as well as the students as opposed to just the die hards in. I want to see this thing huge for our players and coaches as well as signees that may come in to watch.

Maybe Johnboy knows what MSU or other SEC schools typically do.

Giveaways, contests, bands, etc?

Alabama treats it like a home game, they fill up the stadium. If you have never seen their spring game, then this year check out he highlites. It is absolutely incredible.

Fill up the stands, maybe get some of the former pro-players to come and have a reunion of former players Barbque again. Make it an annual event.

Make it players vs. fans and tell the fans that they win scholarships if they win the game.

Oh, and spot the fans 17 points.

And the players have to play with blindfolds.

And bring donuts.

Make it FREE for sure, and PROMOTE it just like a regular home game! With the sales just from the concession stands they should make a decent amount of money!

Team up with local radio stations and have a concert (not just a band) similar to Mardi Gras and CajunHeart Land. Ex. Wayne Toups, Marc Broussard, the Mollys,. Make it a BIG EVENT!

couple of ideas from MSU


Make the game a free event. We have Super Bulldog Weekend that week and its nice to tailgate and hang out and see the game for free. We will have 45 to 50 thousand at ours.


Have a draft. We divide the coaching staff into Two staffs and have them draft players, This is cool cause all the stars are not on one team. Make the losing team clean the stadium after the game. gives them some incentive to play hard


Have an auction where you bid to be the head coach of one of the two teams. Two people who donate the most monety to the RCAF get to be honorary head coaches

works for us. the losing team always helps clean the stadium. makes it fun for the kids
