I will say this, I'm not all that concerned with stars, but athletic ability and character seem to be our new coach's targeted recruits. You can throw five stars on a kid with no class, character, and a rap sheet, (see section: br: subsection: transfer qbs) but I'll take our 2011 class any day. Our kids were mostly overlooked by the know-it-alls that control the seats at the big boy table. In the next couple of years, we will be able to go after and get any kid we want after word gets out about the class act that is our university and athletic program. Thank you. _
I like what your saying but Bustle brought in high character kids. Lets hope the new additions can do a little more between the white lines.

I believe this class will do just that! It looks like we're going to be loaded with speed in all skill positions on both sides of the ball. I can't wait until next season! Go Cajuns!

I agree, Coach Bustle and his staff did bring in high character kids and they have talent as well. What I believe we are seeing that is different this year is the new staff is going after talented kids that didn't make the previous staff's target list. We know that is true because many of our verbal commits have said the previous staff never contacted them.

Now before people jump on the previous staff's "failure" to target these players, let's keep in mind the increased budget for everything for the new staff. I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with our new coaching staff and their excellent recruiting abilities - or at least it sure looks like that; but when you have to manage a budget like ours was, you have to eliminate players you don't think you have a chance at. So, in a nutshell, we are going to get better because the administration has opened their wallet and the new staff does not have to worry about recruiting limitations as much as in the past.

If we continue to expand the RCAF (and winning will ensure that), we will only get better!

While I agree with a lot of that, and I look back on the Bustle tenure with great fondness because I really liked the people, budget doesn't have a whole lot to do with not at least shooting a phone call and a letter to Dexter Aucoin in Patterson. And I know that's just one guy, but we spent a lot of time recruiting Florida and Texas so travel budget wasn't what kept us from getting players.

That said, the use of one of our booster's private jets has certainly helped things, so perhaps it was just aggressiveness that we've been lacking that's kept us from reaching the mountain top.

Your're right, a phone call is free. One thing we all can see, this group is aggressive and they are busting their butts for us!

Looks like this is the year we all make new commitments! I increased my RCAF membership (as I have seen many do) which is really the lifeblood to giving our administration the positive reinforcement to be agressive with their plans for the future!

I am also going to run(?) the stadium steps to see what it does to me! This is what I hear the players will do for each loss.

Oh, and I too really liked our former coaches and do like to give them the benefit of the doubt. That said, I REALLY LIKE the direction being shown to date!

You are right, its better to move on and focus on the things that are going on now. But I will correct you on several things; it's not a jet, but a prop aircraft and it was available to the previous head coach and he chose not you use it much. There was plenty of money in last years recruiting budget, infact some of it was never touched.

Coach Hud and his staff, and that includes three members from the previous staff have done an outstanding job! That were our focus should be now and moving forward.
