LOUISIANA La. — Not too long ago, Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women would have found a way to lose a game like last Saturday’s home game against Nicholls State.

Two years ago, in fact, Nicholls came to town and banked in a desperation 3-point basket at the buzzer to hand UL a stunning 59-57 defeat.

So when the Cajuns hung on for a 57-56 victory over the same school on Saturday, there were no apologies issued and no offers to throw that one back.

By next March, no one will ask “by how many?” The ‘W’ is what will matter.

Coach J. Kelley Hall’s squad is now 6-1 on the season, with another home game at 7 p.m. today at Earl K. Long Gym against Prairie View A&M before traveling to meet SEC member Arkansas on the road on Thursday.
