We can't judge our backs from last season. Our oline was crippled most of the year. Jmo

I think the problem with most of the comments I'm reading in this thread, is the talk of Griffin running over people. I've seen many of his runs where he is running away from people as well and the cuts he makes against the grain. There are some things you can't teach a back, and what is clear to me is that for a back with limited time at the prime back position, he is very instinctive. That is something you look for in running backs. I love backs that will put their head down to get the extra yards, but I also like backs that are instinctive and don't just run up the back of their linemen.
Griffin has the whole package, 220-pounds with 4.5 speed. He is far from polished, but he comes with a set of skills that this program has not seen in many years.
T, I'm not saying he doesn't have these skills. However, Spikes' highlights showed the same thing with better quickness. However, he struggled seeing holes this year as he was often not letting holes open up or he was not hitting them when they were open. My point is that Griffen has power amongst many tools that if he is struggling with the speed of the game or overall transition, you can't teach his strength and size and we can always use that. I think both Walker and Spikes will be much better backs this year as well so i expect there to be some serious competition at that spot.
