I just watched some highlight film on griffin and he is unreal! This guy is a beast on the field...just breaks tackles like it's his business!

This was from a thread a while ago. Johnboy brings up some good points. This guy looks good but I'm also a little speculative as to how much of it was him and how much was his O-line. He looks like a damn good RB, I just hope he works out with his grades and gets it done on the field.
I understand the whole offensive line thing. HOWEVER, I'd suggest watching all of the yards he gets after he's 5 yards down the field and past the line. His line aint pimp slapping linebackers and safeties out the way....HE is. There is always an adjustment in the college game, especially with your vision as a back and how you respond the the speed difference and the fact that holes close much faster. Aaron Spikes struggled with this last year but he also struggled with a poor O-Line. The fact that this kid can literally pick up and throw defensive backs tells me that at the very least, he will be a great short yardage and redzone back due to being able to run up the middle. We haven't had this in a long time.
very true. I personally think he will be a very good back for us but the fact he played for a football powerhouse makes me a little speculative. But once again, I really think he will be a star for us.
yea he only played half the game. and he still managed to score 40 TDs.
I really hope it works out for him. Like I said, most of us in Mississippi dont get too excited about South Panola kids because the vast majority never have an impact in college. And it has nothing to do with talent. Qyen is a great kid and a good RB. Reason he only had one monster year was because of a kid name Nick "Big" Parker. Same thing, big , strong, fast, hard to bring down. Like i said, if he gets eligible, every school in the SEC gonna slap themselves.
But mark my words, next year they have a RB have almost the exact same numbers. Tony Connor is his name, and he is by FAR, the best of the bunch. I hope he is studying
Hey John, would you want to participate in a tackling drill with him? LOL. I understand that these kids typically become overhyped due to the greatness of every other player around them but again, in the SBC, a kid that runs that physical will have success unless his line is you and me. I'm not saying he's breaking Fenroy's records but certainly enough to be an impact. Him and Spikes/Walker could really create some interesting opportunities.
tell you what, i let him meet larry in the B Gap. In that scenario, my money is on # 10 lol
Z, i aint questioning his talent. Like i said, the reason they dont make it has nothing to do with talent. Best thing in the world for him is getting him away from Batesville, MS
