National Signing Day Party Feb. 2

On Wednesday, February 2, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns will host a football signing day party to announce the names of those high school prospects ready to join the Cajuns in 2011.

The event is presented by Gulf Coast Bank.

National Signing Day is Wednesday, February 2 - the first day prospects are allowed to sign a binding National Letter of Intent (NLI). Public commitments can be changed and are not official until a NLI is signed.

The party will begin at 5pm in the Leon Moncla Indoor Practice Facility. The program features the UL Pep Band and Ragin' Jazz dance team starting at 5:30pm. The athletic department will then reveal the signing class and show video highlights of each prospect.

Admission to the party is $15 per person. Those paying $15 will be allowed to add one guest for an additional $5. Admission is free of charge for 2010 or 2011 RCAF members, current UL students with a valid ID, former football lettermen and children under 12 years old.

The first 300 fans receive a Ragin' Cajuns visor sponsored by Coca-Cola Bottling of Acadiana.

Complimentary food will be provided by Abacus, while complimentary beverages will be served by Coca-Cola Bottling of Acadiana, Schilling Distributing and Republic Distributing Company.

Acadiana Fun Jumps will provide jumps for the kids.

The party is the first chance for the public to meet Coach Hudspeth and his coaching staff up close and personal.

I'll be on that list, but I'll drop an extra $20 in the hat on the way in. I've been following UL Football since I was a kid going to McNaspy with my Dad. I've never seen this kind of energy before and I think it will explode with the home opener this year. Can't wait for next Wednesday. Isn't it also Ground Hog Day?
