What happened with Nick Smith this weekend?? Did he lose his scholarship??
Ya'll have a great week!
He either lost the scholarship or was offered a grey shirt
One of his team mates is saying Hud withdrew his scholarship. This would be a huge mistake a local kid that is inside "the fence around Louisiana". Anyone else heard anything about this? Any truth?

OK let's try this again. Nick committed to the Cajuns in June. New coach comes and the mother ask me if she thinks the new coaches will honor the commitment. I told her I don't know. Coaches affirm his commitment, he has a full scholarship. Nick makes his visit last weekend. He is posting to facebook about his visit and how excited he is. At the end of the visit, Coach speaks to him about a gray shirt. Wow, way to put a fence around Louisiana. If this happens do you think any of his team mates at Acadiana will believe anything our coaching staff tell them. What do you think the coaches at Acadiana or any other Lafayette high school will think. I understand recruitment is not an exact science but here is a kid from Lafayette who was all pumped to play for the Cajuns had agreed to. Now he doesn't really have time to make any other visits to any other schools that could have been interested. This is really leaving a rotten taste in my mouth. I had been talking up the Cajuns to this parent when they were looking at Tulsa and McNeese. I love the recruits we are getting, but really, here is a two star recruit from the state champion Acadiana in Lafayette. I expect the coaches to honor their commitment.
He would have to pay tuition for the fall and then if a spot was available in January he would then get the scholarship. My whole point is here is a LOUISIANA player who wants to play here and was promised this.
I understand your frustration. I'm only a fan and this is simply a message board with no ties to UL other than fans. I would recommend contacting the school or coaching staff and talking with them about their plan and/or intent.
I know nothing about Nick but I'm sure he's a fine young man. I also know that Coach Hud and his staff are planning what they think is the best plan to win now instead of in 2-3 years. Certainly not knocking Nick either but any prospect who signs with a division 1 school is a 2 star prospect so I'm not sure what you meant by that. I hope you can get the answers you're looking for.
Go Cajuns

Aaaaaaannnndddd yet another reason why recruits and parents/family of recruits should not visit this board...
The person(s) you need to take this up with do not frequent this board.
