Baseball 2011 Wins!

What do you think the total number of wins for the 2011 basbeall team will be? Will they compete for a conference title? Will they make it back to the regionals?

35-40 wins. Yes. And yes but both will be really tough. Sun Belt will be close to a top 5 conference this year. Strong from top to bottom.

Looking at the 2011 schedule it looks a little stronger than 2010, IMO. 3 games at S.miss, 3 in San Fran, play Rice twice, no more UNO to beat up on. I can't remember the last time we beat S.Eastern, We do play ULM 6 times this year. I think this team team will be deeper defensively, We did loose Keefer but picked up Petello, who might not have Keefer's HR power (but also might) but good speed, and gap power so more total bases. I think we'll average 1 more run per game this year. The outfield will be better offensively with plenty of talent to work with, but loose one of the best CF in a very long time (Kyle Olasin). Plenty of Pitchers (some with experience) returning, having Tony as a pitching coach usually has pitchers in game shape quicker than most teams. We'll pitch good enough to compete for another SBC championship. As for post season well we do have 17 Sr's on the roster, just can't start as slow as last year. Leadership is my bigest question on this years team, I've been around the game a long time and Leadership is earned not just appointed by someone. 37 wins, I predicted 38 last year & missed by 1. Can't wait to watch our 2011 team play.
