Were all of this weekends recruits at the game?

Sure seemed like it when they passed by my seat on the way into the stands.
Couldn't tell by looking up in the stands the football team had 2 sections full in the upper deck end zone section.
I think recruits must have been mixed in, because I ran into a couple FB players 2 hours before the game and they didn't seem to know coach Huds plans to introduce the staff.
At the time it didn't seem like they planned on attending. They were coming off attending the girls BB game.
They love coach Hud.

I know I had a blast tonight. I was walking under the covered driveway towards the ticket office, and a stranger was kind enough to simply give me a ticket in the 310 section of the 'Dome. I had a blast, and I was super glad we pulled this game out.
I do plan to attend as many more BB games as I possibly can this season.
If by chance the kind fellow who gave me the ticket is on here, I greatly appreciate it!
What I continue to be encouraged about is the play of our two freshman.
Thomas had 22 points and 9 rebounds. MBhamalu played great on defense and fought hard on the glass. Brown ( a junior) returned from his injury and had the play of the night on an alley oop dunk. That is not to downplay the contributions of the seniors. LaRyan Gary especially had to battle as Farrington did not play due to injury. He did well with 18 points and shot well from the line. We had few turnovers and hit 80% of our freee throws. Good night all around for the team.
As far as the crowd is concerned, I assure you there is not a mid major in the south with a losing record who will draw that many people this season. In fact, I don't know many southern mid majors with winning records who will draw that many in any game this year. I guarantee you no other school in Louisiana other than LSU will draw that many this year. In fact, with their current struggles, they will probably be around that no. for the rest of the year. Tonight confirms my belief we can still be the top mid major in the south.

Mike, I echo everything you said in your post. A season low seven turnovers which has been a problem with this squad this year. A season high ten made three pointers. We rebounded well in the second half.
J. J. is a beast in the making.
But it was the crowd tonight. They were there and they were active. And, they were a factor down the stretch. The steal by Gary and alleyoop to Brown was a thing of beauty...but it was set up by Ramone Andrews defense in the backcourt which caused the turnover.
Tonights game coupled with the reception Friday night at the Alumni House and the program in the Mardi Gras Ballroom before the game made the whole two days a thing of beauty.
And, there was even an Easter Bunny sighting!!!
Great to finally see you --The lady and I certainly enjoyed it---Got to see her all time UL favorite after and spend a good amount of time---Graylin Warner!!!! Had a great visit with Jim Hatfield who I worked with and Didn't get to see Booby P--Saw the Trigger and one of my favorite guys Dean Church----It is kinda scary to see what this place can become----I think HUD got the crowd going pretty good at Halftime------The recruits HAD to be impressed!!!! Now we need some Caj-T updates!!!!
This what I remember as Cajun basketball before the hard times hit.The crowd was large and loud. Our 2 freshmen and Ramone played lights out. The rest of the team really played hard. The half time show was awesome. The thing that struck me was what other Deep South university could introduce an African-American player to a loud ovation and he played in the '60's. It is a short list of 1 and that is The University of Louisiana. One of the best nights in the Dome ever.
Bryant & J.J. are special. Can't wait until next season when everyone on the roster will be this hard working.
I was at a Top 28 Blue Coats meeting in the Cajundome a few months ago, and Gerald had Coach Brock Morris come talk to us. Coach Morris told us about a conversation he had with Jay Bilas when he was considering whether he should take the job here or not. Bilas told him he should take the job because this basketball program had the opportunity to become the "Gonzaga of the South." Whether you agree or disagree with Bilas on anything, remember, this was stated in a private conversation, so Bilas had nothing to gain by getting Morris over here. One thing I will say about Bilas, he appears to be one of the more hard working "talking heads" at ESPN. He does his research on schools, he seems to be well prepared whenever he is asked about any school. So, for him to say anything that positive about our school, encourages me and makes me believe that there is respect for our program on a national level.
That said, I believe there are two things this program needs to achieve such a lofty status: time and money. Time for Coach Marlin to recruit good players, time to win ball games, time to win championships, time to get into the NCAA tournament, time to win games in the NCAA tournament, time to make runs deep into the NCAA tournament...time.
Money to recruit top flight players, money to improve facilities, money to reward our coaches for success...money.
We have goals, we have dreams, just as most other schools do. We seem to have many of the tools in place to reach our goals, achieve our dreams. We just need to work together to accomplish them.
Hey Boom -
I overheard some folks behind me, and the wife mentioned that her favorite was Graylin. Your wife didn't accidentally hit someone upside the head with her jacket by chance huh? (That would have been me! LOL)
