If they would have played Desomeaux he would have lost his red shirt year.

My gut feeling on what would have happened with a late season change at QB, is UL would have gotten blown-out in 2 games and won 1
With no turnovers that is.
You do not start a quarterback with a broken rib.
That is true, I work with Garrin's cousin, and in fact just today he told me that Garrin is wanting to transfer from Mcneese to UL.Originally posted by CajunFan64
The guys I've heard is interested was Garrin Jim from Carencro, but thats just hear say I'm not sure. And I've heard a couple of disgruntled players from ULM too but no names there.

does Jim have the grades to get in?
We did not offer him when he was in high school. His grades were very low. He has always wanted to come to UL.Originally posted by texascajun

I agree totally. If I was Sniewski, I would be very disapointed that I did not get a chance. I might be disapointed enough to look for another place to play.Originally posted by cajun tom

I think you guys are under estimating the potential of Desormeaux. I know Babb has been the starter for the past two years, but that should not be the main determinant when naming the starting QB next season. Don't get me wrong, Babb is a good qb but I think Desormeaux could definitely push if not beat Babb out for the position. Babb is a mobile quarterback but Desormeaux is a Michael Vick prototype. If given the chance, this kid could break some Cajun records. If we can get a solid running back and some defensive specialist, then we'll be very tough come next year. I truly think that next year will be our BREAK OUT SEASON. Geaux Cajuns and the Iowa Hawkeyes!
Did you put Vick and Desormeaux in the same sentence?
Yes, I did. Anyone who has seen the Desormeaux kid play, will tell you that he is way more elusive than Babb. His ability to make plays happen are incredible. Babb is able to maneuver out of being sacked for a loss, Desormeaux can escape the pressure and gain an additional 20 yards on the play. Trust me, I've been scouting this kid since he was in 8th grade. He is the Real Deal. Just give him the chance and I think many of you will be shocked. Our future is in great hands with this kid. It's a matter of time until Babb is knocked off of his throne. Geaux Cajuns and Iowa Hawkeyes!!!
Acctually coming out of high school, he wanted to go to Ole Miss and another Big 12 school, then decided to goto Mcneese. Now he wants to move back to be closer to his family and stuff. From what I understood, he doesnt have the greatest grades, buthe believes that the year that he'll sit out with his transfer, he will be able to get his grades together.Originally posted by Cajunfever

With regards to our QB.....
I think we'll all agree that our best offensive player (maybe best overall player) was Babb. Now why would Coach bench our best player for a HUGE UNKNOWN. I don't doubt that Desormeaux is capable and he will get his turn. However, barring some unforseen event such as injury, I cannot see Babb on the bench next year, or even the next year (his senior year). Keep in mind guys, that with only about a year and a half on the field, BABB is approaching some all time Cajun records. I AM BEHIND BABB 10000000%. A few bad games b/c of an injury WILL NEVER create a QB controversy in my mind.
