Consistent success of any kind will be a very welcomed change around here. I think Hud has the attitude and hopefully the tools to get it done. The anticipation is killing me though. Guess I will have to start tailgating for Saturday baseball games to quench my Cajuns football thirst. It wont be so bad, I'm excited about Cajuns hard ball as well.

Agree with that. A few of them please!

Well let's look at what's important-----How many stars would you give HUD as compared to the other 20-----Do they give more stars based on if they are going to a certain conference???? Have we seen Hud on film???What about his grades on play calling----Had to do it!!!!!!

I can see your point, not sure if you were directing at me or in general. But, we do know some things about Coach Hud. He was a winner as a head coach, and has done well everywhere he's been including being part of a good Miss State team. He's at least a 3 star in my book, considerably above average, but not yet noticed by the Money Programs.

Come on C4Life, you know better than most here that if he has the success that we feel he can have here, some BCS program will come gobbling him up in 4-5 years. It's inevitable and we will just not be able to compete with what some of those programs will be able to. In the end, he will elevate this program and we will have to hope to go out and do it again.

What a nasty problem to have. Success. In whatever form success crawls, walks and runs in our football program... it is time we manage the luxurious problems associated with winning.

I think you took C4L too literal, but I am very confident in Hudspeth. He will succeed and we will have to deal with that success in one way or another.

All I ever ask of our coaching staffs is that when it is time for them to leave (willingly or otherwise) that they leave the place better than they find it.

I'm glad we've got Hud and I want him to stay as long as he wants. Iif ever we lose him to the BCS, it means we've done something right.

I'm pretty sure we've had this exact same discussion, before, during and now after the hire

Success is renewing coach's contract for $1.25M with a $150K bonus for beating both SEC schools on the Cajun schedule....I know I'll get hammered for that view!

Great view! That is the mind set we need to all have. Times are a changin for UL. The future is getting brighter every day.

I agree. I say cross that bridge when it gets here. Also, I think if Hudspeth is having to be replaced because some bigger school hired him away after a successful run in Lafayette, that would be a bridge everyone would be happy to cross.
