    UL Basketball Troubling statistics

After watching the LSU game, it occured to me that we have a lack of depth on our team. So, I did a little number crunching and I found some statistics on the first two games that are quite troubling.

    After 2 games:

    Points per game:
    Starting 5: 12.7 (avg)
    Bench: 1.25 (avg)

    Rebounds per game:
    Starting 5: 5.2 (avg)
    Bench: 0.063 (avg

    Assists per game:
    Starting 5: 2.1 (avg)
    Bench: 0 (avg)

Because of this our starters played an average of 31.1 minutes per game. What does this mean? Well, it means they get tired, and it shows in our offensive production.

    1st half scoring: 84 pts
    2nd half scoring: 69 pts

If we expect to have any sort of success with our OOC schedule, we are going to have to get more production out of our bench. Plain and simple. Our starters can't carry this team by themselves.

    Very interesting

According to playing time, an equally deep bench would be producing 22% of the starters totals.

Right now the bench is a hair under 9% of the scoring.

I'm not even going to touch the rest of the stats. But if they improve the scoring improves.
