We have 5 scholarship QB's but really 6 on our roster with Brady Thomas who has maintained his preferred walk on spot his time here. It's tough, when your team has so many needs elsewhere, to give one of what looks like limited spots to a 7th QB. I'm sure the staff wants him here as he would be a quality teammate and possible QB in a couple of years but defensively, we need depth.

Wish we could have offered, but the 5 QBs we already have on scholarship kind of limited the options. Hope he finds a better deal somewhere, but would love to see him on over here.

i will say this. I know how things are done behind the scenes alot better than most. Hud and Stringer will have my respect until the day i die. Cant say that for everybody though

I see at least one of our QBs transferring with Broadway coming in. Maybe Gauiter. I sure hope no one does but I'm thinking at least one of our QBs are thinking about it. So if Billups takes it, there's a good chance he will earn that scholarship this year.

he was told they would put him on next year. But Rice can do it this year. Its gonna be Guys decision in the end. he told me he was about 85-90% on UL. I just dont get if your gonna put him on next year why not offer him a gray shirt so he is working towards a goal and you lock him down right now. They told him they want him and he is the number 1 HS QB on their board, but your gonna let him go to Rice this weekend when a gray shirt would have wrapped it up? I guess thats why they get paid the big dollars

That is what I want to see, I want him here as a gray shirt, he would have an extra semester in the weight program and to learn the system in the spring. Win, win for both parties.
