Throwing the ball shouldn't be a problem. Nutt has somehow managed to go from 2 QBs to 8 QBs (or something like that) in a blink of an eye. You would have to think that ONE of them would be good. If Mackey can get past a few of the hurdles he supposedly has in his way, then I think he can be a great one. As for blocking, we're returning pretty much everyone on the OL. It wasn't a GREAT O-line by any stretch of the imagination, but they were constantly injured and being shuffled around. I think they'll be much improved.
My thing with Price is that I don't know why he'd want to go there as a RB. Nutt does seem to recruit a whole lot of RBs and RB/Slot specialists. I think the OL recruiting is pretty solid this year, but I am concerned about the DL. We'll see I guess.
No, they know they have a legit shot at him. The thing is there are some other RB's that they've been on that may fit what they're looking to do a little more. They have at least one other back that they are high on and will visit this week. Price is also looked at more of a slot guy and utility player where we are high on Montrel Carter to fill that spot and he's number 1 on our board. They will wait to see what Carter will do and go from there.
I think recent history proves we should offer billups. If I'm not mistaken, Corey leonard and the qb from lake Charles high both wanted to come here, went else where bc we didn't have room, and ended up having pretty nice careers.
Don't wanna call anyone out, but if the coaches are truly high on him and billups wants to be shown we want him and he'll walk-on, there's a couple of qbs to choose from that could be told thanks for your services, good luck in the future.....

This is what coaches are criticized for all the time in recruiting. They are judged on decisions they made years back when analyzing kids and their potential and basing their judgements on film from high school before they've played a down on the collegiate level. I often feel that its unfair to judge a staff when they passed on Ferroux or Leonard because of a Desormeaux, Babb or Hundley. Bottom line is that this staff will be held accountable by everyone on this board and others to win and make the right decisions. If the coaches believe that Billups is the man to bring in from the high school ranks, I'm fine with that as I trust their judgement. If they don't, people need to stop reacting and making decisions with their heart and trust that the coaches made the right decision. Every year, every program makes decisions that they would do differently if given a second chance. That is the nature of recruiting and that's why lots of evaluation and time is needed to make those decisions. This staff has not been given that time to make those decisions so I would suggest some objectivity in the fan's assessment of their performance.
biggest problem here is the coaches are handcuffed at that position. Next year should clear the way though
