Don't know what happened to Todd - he was with the team in the fall.

Doesn't Degraauw have to sit out this coming season per transfer rules?

With Todd gone, apparently. Strentz probably has the inside track to be the starter at C. He had a hell of a Fall World Series both offensively and defensively. He has a real shot at putting up some numbers comparable to the great Luc in both facets.

Strentz looked damn good in the fall. There is another catcher on the roster, Chris Sinclair that looked pretty good too. Should be some good competition at the position.

Both looked good in the fall, but there is a ton of inexperience with them handling our pitching system and staff. That's what concerns me behind the plate.

Thats true, but the experience behind the plate graduated last year. Ya gotta start somewhere. Sinclair is a JC transfer, but will need to learn our system. We will see. Strentz, if he can learn fast has all the tools to be a GREAT catcher here.

(long deep sigh).......Thad. What could have been. Guy was supposed to be our next great catcher. I don't know what happened with that little gap we had, the recruits we brought in just weren't that good. It's good to see Tony shake that off. Big plus...no more Dillon Guillory. Don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for student athletes. But how he stayed on the team last year, I do not know. if he got a hit, or walked, it was a miracle. guy was poison at the plate and poison in the field. Best of luck to him in whatever he does, just stay away from the baseball team.
