    Default THANK YOU

from the bottom of my heart to all of those involved in putting together the festivities for the basketball game Saturday night.

I am quick to criticize the administration when things do not go as I think they should, but I wanted to say that this was truly a magical night. I could actually feel the culmination of everything that has been happening for the last couple of years in that one night.

It was great to see all of the basketball players from the past who provided soo many memories for me from my youth.

Coach Hud's energy is phenominal. I can't wait until next football season.

    The crowd was great.

There are small things that I could complain about, but I won't.

    Thanks again.

If anybody out there knows names and e-mail addresses, or better yet, phone numbers for those who were responsible for Saturday night, I would love to know so that I can personally thank them.

I have to agree completely. I wanted to thank Josh and Foote from the DA for their promotion and coverage leading up to the reunion night which really highlighted the event and let a lot of people around the area know what was going on. We had nearly 6,000 people at the dome for the basketball game for a 4 win team and that was impressive. Without Josh and the DA, I don't think this weekend would have had the interest and excitement that it did have.

I know that I speak for a lot of people when I say that you obviously see a difference in the excitement that Hud brings to this program, especially when compared to Bustle. Bustle's hire was exciting but he didn't get out and fire people up like Hud does. He obviously has the same effect on recruits and we will likely have one of, if not our best recruiting class on paper ever. He is already responsible for the weightroom construction and getting the donations for it and will likely leave a very large footprint on this program when he does leave whenever that may be. I know that everybody will be fired up just for the spring game much less fall workouts and scrimmages.

@zephyr: We haven't always agreed (does anybody?), which makes your words mean that much more. But the DA's coverage truly was a group effort.

Kevin Foote, Bruce Brown and Brady Aymond all made sacrifices to make last week's content possible. It was a special week. As a basketball junkie, I enjoyed getting to connect with so many former coaches and players from the program's past.

Publicly, many thanks to Jim Champagne, Beryl Shipley, Jim Hatfield, Ted Lyles, Dean Church, Graylin Warner, Payton Townsend, Alonza Allen and Bob Marlin.

Still reading but this is classic.

"I don’t like the term “death penalty.” After all, this program is not dead."

Louisiana Re: UL basketball players, coaches swap memories

ULL... ULL... SLI... USL... ULL... USL... USL... ULL... ULL... ULL... ULL... USL... ULL... USL... USL... USL... ULL... ULL... I was trying to count how many times the Advocate article drilled in our names. It's hard for me to read past their reminders of the name change battle. At what point would a reader figure out which school they are writing about? Jerks... Jerks... Jerks...

I have been meening to ask did Coach Dennis Donaldson make it in for the reunion. He was my High School coach before leaving to USL to be Paschal assistant. What a good man Coach D is.
