Ya gatta love Bear Bryant---HE said about going back to his Alma Mater Alabama----" When my mother would call I came running home"---Well something along those lines---They do have a bigger stadium and a MUCH BETTER fight song then LSU----Hail to the Victors!!!! Just think--- it wasn't too far back that they were taking Louisiana's best up to cold country!!!
Good question. I imagine the answer is different depending on the personal situation.
Interesting stuff regardless. I think if Les stays then the situation with LSU and Les Miles are not as "bad" as the general population believes.
Perhaps the people in charge of athletics at LSU are much more reasonable than the fanbase, yknow?
I think the relationship with the AD is fine. I think LSU knows they have the best coach they've ever had there and don't want him to leave. However, like you said... some people just want to go home. I don't know the guy but I'm positive he'll be successful in whatever he chooses. I think Michigan is pressing here because they didn't do due diligence on their last hire. Rich Rod was never a michigan guy. Michigan was always a pound it out punch you in the mouth team. Exactly how Wisconsin was. That being said, Rich Rod was making strides in my opinion.... but he was the typical square peg in a round hole.
I disagree. Private schools not in power conferences are no longer relevant in college football. Michigan, on the other hand, has been a destination program for over 100 years, and will remain so.
Notre Dame was King until the late 1980's or so.. since then their decline has been more or less constant, and is not going to reverse itself.
ND will be good again, but they will never be what they once were because of the importance they put on academics. When you have conferences like the SEC and Big12 who only give lip service to academics, it puts them behind the eight ball. IMHO I wish more programs were run like ND.
BTW, Les should stay. He has a good thing going at LSU.
