MTSU 93 Cajuns 91 F/OT
UL lost game in early part of 1st half and first three possessions of OT. Second half a lot of fun. Refs made the most important play. No Goal T on a clear MT put in. Obvious. clear. No question. 4 point swing at critical time near end of regulation. Most critical bad play by UL; leading by 2 in OT, terrible TO with a chance to go up by 4. We make that - we likely have very good chance to win. All this while being outshot at FT line by about 20%. Missed FTs in OT were final nail in our own coffin. Sure took a lot of energy to come back in 2nd half. If only some of that in 1st half, game is ours.
Bad thought of day. MT had one road win coming in. They had 6 of their players foul out. And we can't beat them. Hmmmmm.
Lots of recruiting to do.
ONE OF THE WORST OFFICIATED GAMES OF ALL TIME. Really played horribly in the first half. I was already depressed from the Saints game. They played much better in the second half but they have to put together a game of playing well the entire game. There is not many scoring options on this team.
98 free throw attempts in one game??? Mtsu # 15 had 1 foul while pushing off whole game??? hey was in refs ears all night and they bought it. Sad
Can anyone explain why the player shooting the FT for MT was pulled after the first shot and replaced by another player for the second shot of the free throw?
He was bleeding. The officials apparently didn't see it before the first shot.
After hitting a shot at the buzzer in regulation to force overtime, Randell Daigle got fouled beyond midcourt on a 3-point attempt with the Ragin' Cajuns trailing Middle Tennessee by three points with 1.4 seconds left. Daigle missed the first shot and made ...
The rest of the story
Very disappointing way to lose the game. As bad as the first half was, the 2nd half was great. They really put a great effort up, and even though we lost, I was proud of the effort the team put forth. It looks like some things are starting to fall into place and guys are starting to buy into the system. I hope that we continue to see the upward trend and effort over the rest of the season that we've seen in the past two home games. If that happens, we may yet salvage a respectable season.
