The Faculty Chamber Music Series will kick off Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Angelle Concert Hall. The Garth Alper Trio will entertain audiences during the series first concert.

The Trio has gained a large and enthusiastic following as well as critical acclaim for its first CD "Canvas." The group features original compositions by Dr. Alper and has released its second CD "Inroads," on the Musicians Showcase Recordings label. In addition to exploring numerous jazz styles in his compositions, Dr. Alper also arranges a wide variety of jazz standards for his trio.

The second concert in the series will be Nov. 21 and will feature the Louisiana Brass Quintet.
