There was an article on Brees today and the receivers talking about "Throwing Me Open"----I call it putting it on the money--all receivers are taught how not to allow an interception and QBs taught only to throw where the receiver can get it-----I think this kid throws them open!!!!! Did he allow many interceptions????

Guy runs a 4.80 forty, no thats not world class speed, but its good for a qb. And he can throw it 60 to 65 yards if he guns it, but the offense wasnt made for him to be a gunslinger, its was a rhythm and timing offense. You can sum this kid up very easy, 33tds and 6ints

He is 6ft 1 but only 175. needs to gain weight. But the kid just wins. And on the plus side, he is a 4.0 student and made a 28 on his act without a calculator. _
Very impressive on the academic side. I love the TD to int. ratio also. I believe both SR QB here at UL Masson and McGuire both signed on at about 180-185 lbs. and now both are over 200 with McGuire weighing about 220. So Billups could easily put on some weight although he does not look to have a big frame to put on weight. On throwing the ball 60-65 yards sounds like a stretch but I will take your word on it. Not many QB's can throw the ball that far. I have often watched the NFL QB challenge and most of those guys only throw the ball 65 yards. I would say on our current roster maybe only Gauthier could throw it that far.

Is he scheduling a visit? We haven't offered and would be the lowest profile school to do so if my memory serves me correct. He has some pretty nice offers if I'm not too hungover to remember. I would like to get him but I would put Hollier higher on the board.

That's more of a CajunT question as far as how the new staff is looking at him. All I know is he wanted to hear from the last staff and didn't.

He's got an amazing list of schools looking at him. Would be a big time catch for us.

He doesn't have that list any longer, his grades are not close right now. We are looking at him, but no dates has been set up right now. The staff are interested in Hollier, Brooks, Smith and Abraham just to name a few right now.

I heard that Kitchen transferred to Terrebonne high after the season to get his grades and his GPA up. Vandebilt is pretty tough on academics, so it would make sense.

Billups will be visiting this weekend and I sure hope he gets an offer!! He is a great kid and a wonderful QB yes he has MUCH more arm strength than he shows on film. He was asked to make certain throws and that was that. He never had an out rout picked off if that tells you anything.

Also Tom Lemming from Maxpreps didnt name him the national sleeper recruit of the year for nothing!!

He has standing preferred walk on offers from Fla State, Ms. State. USM, Illinois. He has an offer from Delta state and another from Coach Hal Mumme at McMurray in Texas. He is going on an official Visit to Rice in two weeks. He was hands down the best QB at the camp at LSU this summer, and the coaches loved him, but they chose to sign a 6 5" athelete, go figure!! This kid is a winner and he is very smart, he can make the throws and he will within a year be competing for playing time.
