A story in todays paper about the University of Lafayette. How does a mistake of this size happen? You are wrong Bruce Brown, it's not a good thing.

If I had more time I would go on my rant about how this is a direct result of marketing the school as UL Lafayette. But I don't so I won't, but with the current marketing approach Lafayette is all any outsider has ever seen.

I suspect the final copy editor is far far removed from the University and the town. It's either that or it is pure internal maliciousness. I say this because in the 13 or so days since Marsha Sills great article on University Fights For Identity and Juli Metzger's Nothing may be as sacred as one’s name story . . . the opposite has happened no less than 4 times. All starting on November 1

It's a plain old screw up by someone who was half asleep or who is ignorant of current events. Either way it's m-i-c-k-e-y m-o-u-s-e.
