_ Couple of things here....This should have nothing to do with Bustle, I don't understand why people continue to bring his name up about Hud vs Buslte, we should just be happy that we have Hud right now.

Hud is going to oversign--something Bustle would not do
Hud is going to sign a few non qualifiers--something Bustle rairly did
Hud is going to Greyshirt a few players--something Bustle rairly did

Everyone always fights the last war, no one wanted Bustle to take chances.

Could Bustle have done things differently? Sure. Bustle had to learn how to be a head coach. I'm sure he wishes he had had a car and had signed more than 11 (or was it 17 and 11 stayed) with his first class.

Now that things are steady Hudspeth doesn't have to steer clear of Baldwin's mistakes. He steers clear of Bustles mistakes.

Right now UL is in a good middle ground of how to do it right and succeed.

when rickey had hired his coaches, said okay let's go recruit.. only to find out when they walked outside, there wasn't a car there for any coaches to even drive..

coach hudspeth as we can recall, called nbc from alabama, having just arrived via airplane.. _

So we went from not having cars to having a RAGIN CAJUN AIRPLANE!!!

2011 is gonna be sweet!

Just one comment on the Hud v Bustle... No one that I can see is questioning the players efforts... I was called out on that when I was critical of Coach Bustle... whom I met and liked personally... but I digress.... The currentl roster of players have given there all and are greatly appreciated. I hope this senior class gets to experience some success because goodness knows they deserve it for all of there efforts....

Coach Bustle did indeed take us from the wilderness to the point where Coach Hud would even be interested in taking the job and as some have said now has the ability to take some chances. Yes times are different. I for one am glad we finally made the change and have this level of excitement around Cajun Land..

But please stop the comments about those of us praising Coach Hud over Coach Bustle as any sort of criticism of the current players. They are Cajuns and we love them.. along with the others that took a chance on us to get us out of the wilderness

Wow did you miss the boat....No one, especially not I questioned anyone saying I did not think people were giving the players there due. I stated that you can not compare a kid that has not played vs a kid that has given his heart for 1-4 years.

Please reread my post and let me know where you read that I was questioning your support for the current kids. Because if you believe I stated that, you are sadly mistaken.

Dude, it is an alumni's personal plane, it is not painted any different than any other private plane at the airport. Acadian Ambulance has 2 painted up in purple and puke parked out at LFT.

_ Not my point, comparing is fine....But blasting Bustle about his recruiting is unfair. Bustle did a good job, not great, good. I thank Ricky for all he did here and got us to this point. If we win 8 games next season, than I am okay with comparing 2011 vs 2010, but why compare something that is not an exact sience as recruiting before anything comes of it. When the next 4 years are over, we could be saying what a miserable recruiting class. You guys are comparing kids that gave there heart and souls, to kids that have never played a down of football. you are comparing a coach that has never coached one play vs a guy that gave his heart and soul for nearly a decade.

i am going to hold judgement till these kids and coach gets on the field.

that being said, I really like what Coach Hud has done so far. _

I'm not blasting Bustle. I was a long time defender of his and took a fair share of heat for that on this site.

But my critique is that Bustle's approach was perhaps too deliberate. Hud has already shown the capability to move on and find someone as good if not better than his own "plan A".

Last time i visited the UL Campus they had it parked. I think Flying it is still a work in progress
