Thanks for filling in the blanks. When I referred to same money, I meant same as his new offer, whatever it may be, vs their new offer. I also like the fact that the OC will have authority on staff selection, and I hope that remains a constant as it clearly communicates Hudspeth's confidence in the hire.
Sour grapes on my part, I enjoyed watching Troy dominate the New Orleans Bowl.
I will leave the subject with this comment, sometimes things happen for a reason.

The lone exception is TE/RC Coach Reed Stringer. So it was not for the same money or athority that he had at Troy. Blakeney had to come up with something better just to keep him and apparently had approval from his AD to make the offer. Now Drew can only report what Edenfield was willing to tell him on the record and that isn't the whole story. I spoke to Hudspeth this morning and Edenfield was given a three year contract extension with an increase in salary and the title of "Head Coach in Waiting." Regardless of what has been reported, that came from Hudspeth.
Now here is the reality, while our administration is willing to pay coordinators $150,000, what programs can we actually out bid the SBC, MAC or WAC for an OC with experince? I could only think of two right now, ULM and Ark.ST. Hudspeth's best bet is to get a good OC from a winning program at the lower divisions. Let's remember, Edenfield came from North Alabama three years ago, he wasn't well known and I expect the next OC candidate will have a similar background. The two criteria are winning and a record of success in running that particular offense. While it's disappointing to lose out on Edenfield, we will get a good coach, but most of us may have never heard of the guy, just like Edenfield when he was at North Alabama. _
